PURPOSE:To prevent the intrusion of molten slag from the tap hole of a converter into a ladle in the stage of discharging a molten steel from the converter into the ladle by inserting sensors into the tap hole of the converter and the ladle and measuring the difference in electric resistance between the two sensors with an ammeter. CONSTITUTION:The converter 1 is inclined to discharge the molten steel 3 in the converter from the tap hole 10 thereof into the ladle 11. The sensors 4, 5 are preliminarily inserted into the molten steels in the tap hole 10 of the converter and the ladle 11 and are connected by a circuit 9 including a resistor 6, the ammeter 7 and a power source 8. The difference in the electric resistance changes with the current value of the ammeter 7 when the molten steel flows out of the tap hole 10 and the molten slag 2 enters the inside of the tap hole 10. The converter is positioned upright at this point of the time to prevent the intrusion of the molten slag 2 from the tap hole 10 into the ladle 11. The amt. of the molten slat to enter the inside of the ladle 11 is considerably decreased, by which the decrease in the yield of the alloy iron to be added into the ladle by the molten slag and the rephosphorization to the molten steel by the molten slag are prevented. |
