1. An arrangement for the coupled control of a gearbox and a hand brake comprising a common hand brake lever (2) for gear selection and shift and for applying the hand brake and safety means which are controlled by a control handle (13) for the locking and releasing the hand brake (30-34) characterized in that a coupling casing (1) is fixed with respect to gear selection and shift control means (46) and supports (at 32) the hand brake system (30-34) and a pivot (9) on which the hand brake lever is rotatable ; that double-acting safety means (16-21) are provided for locking the pivotal movement of the hand brake lever (32) against said coupling casing (1) which is movable with a rotational and translatory movement and is connected to a coupling shaft (3) supported by two bearings (4) which are fixed with respect to the vehicle body ; and that a shift-preventing locking system (23-29) is provided between the coupling casing and the coupling shaft which is immobile in respect of translatory movement.
