PURPOSE:To prevent an electrostatic charge of a transfer sheet and to conduct a smooth thermal transfer, by a method wherein one of layers forming a sheet contains an antistatic agent. CONSTITUTION:A layer of a thermal transfer sheet contains an antistatic agent in order to eliminate the troubles caused by static electricity. The antistatic agent can be added to any of a base film, an ink layer, a sealing layer, and a sticking preventive layer, but the last two are preferable. An irradiation- induced polymerizable antistatic agent, such as a quaternary compound in the form of monomer or oligomer etc. having tertiary amino groups and quaternary ammonium groups, can be employed as the antistatic agent, in addition to a conventional antistatic agent, any of surface-active antistatic agent, a high- molecular antistatic agent of polymerized antistatic agent, and the like. specially, the aforesaid polymerizable antistatic agant can keep stable antistatic properties for a long time. |
