PURPOSE:To increase the adherence between a head and a transfer recording medium, improve transfer performance and accelerate transfer speed by providing a heating element and a light wave guide which guides light to the surface of or near the former with a light reflection layer prepared on the heating element. CONSTITUTION:When a heat pulse corresponding to a picture signal is transmitted to a recording head A from a control circuit 13, a heating element responding to the signal is heated up, heating a transfer recording medium of film 10. In addition, light is emitted from a light source 8 simultaneously with a heat pulse and then is guided by a light wave guide 5 to be emitted to the transfer recording medium on the heating element 4. This allows light and heat energies to be given to the transfer recording medium, and negative information is created in the transfer recording medium whose transfer characteristics vary with these energies. Before the light energy is given, the light guided to the upper surface of the heating element 4 by the light wave guide 5 is reflected upward by a light reflection layer 6 but is not absorbed by the heating element 4. Therefore, the light energy is efficiency given to the transfer recording medium 10a. |
