<p>PURPOSE:To detect over-temp., with such a simple system that two incident and emitting side optical fibers are moved through a fine cylinder using a temp. responsive type shape memory alloy spring to be optically separated or connected. CONSTITUTION:When circumferential temp. rises in an over-temp. state, a shape memory alloy spring 14 is extended by strong force generated with the recovery of the shape of said alloy spring 14 and the stopper 17 of an emitting side optical fiber 13 is pushed in the direction away from a cylinder 11 and, as a result, an incident side optical fiber 12 is separated from the emitting side optical fiber 13 so as to form a gap 20 between both fibers in the cylinder 11. By generating the gap 20, the transmissivity of light from the incident side optical fiber 12 to the emitting side optical fiber 13 is lowered to a large extent and over-temp. can be detected by this phenomenon.</p> |
