PURPOSE:To enable sharp images with high density to be printed even on a recording medium having poor surface smoothness, by a construction wherein a base consists of an aromatic polyamide film, and a heat-fusible material constituting a thermally transferable ink layer forms two or more kinds of domains. CONSTITUTION:The thermal transfer material 1 comprises the thermally transferable ink layer 3 comprising a heat-fusible material on a normally sheet form base 2 consisting of an aromatic polyamide film. In the ink layer 3, fine particles A of a heat-fusible resin form at least one kind of domains, and a non- particulate phase B forms at least one kind of domains. The particles A may solely form the domain, or a high-degree aggregate thereof may form the domain. Alternatively, different kinds of fine particles A of heat-fusible resins may form two or more kinds of domains. Accordingly, a great difference in cohesive force is generated between a heated part (patternwise heated part) and a non-heated part, so that clear images can be recorded. |
