The invention relates to a method for storing materials which have been poured into or packaged in containers, preferably of liquids which have been poured into bottles, the material to be stored being packaged in containers which are provided especially for the purpose or are known per se, stacked and bounded at the top and at the bottom by pallets, if necessary at least partially held together by means of holding straps and directly or indirectly conveyed to a rotary device by means of a transfer device. The said rotary device executes the so-called "Wüma roll", i.e. a rotation through 180 DEG . The invention relates furthermore to a device for implementing the method, which device is characterized in that it has containers which stabilize the bottles in their positions. <IMAGE>
