PURPOSE:To enable an independent recording medium driving mechanism and a driving means therefor to be omitted and enable the medium to be securely discharged, by rotating a press roller at a circumferential velocity greater than that of a platen roller when discharging the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A controller 30 rotates a platen motor 12, thereby rotating a platen 1 a predetermined amount to feed the recording medium further forward from the last line. When the lower end of the sheet form recording medium is passed through the position of a recording head 2, the speed is set to such a value that the velocity of feeding by a paper bail with rollers 3 is greater than the velocity of feeding by the platen 1. Accordingly, the medium is vigorously discharged upward by the bail rollers 3 having a coefficient of friction higher than that of the platen 1, and is discharged into a tray 4 while slipping on the platen 1. |
