PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and a gamma value and yet to improve graininess especially in a low density region by incorporating a silver iodobromide emulsion in a silver halide emulsion layer, and a photographic useful reagent precursor in a constituent layer. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide emulsion layer contains a silver iodobromide emulsion containing silver iodide in an amount of >=5mol%, and this emulsion layer and/or another photographic constituent layer contains the photographic useful reagent precursor, existing stably under storage conditions but releasing a photographic reagent when a blocking group is released at the time of processing in a necessary timing. For example, it is a compound represented by formula (I) in which X is a divalent timing group combined with the methyl group through an oxygen atom in the X, and cleft as X-A at the time of processing and rapidly releasing A; m is 0 or an integer of 1-4; n is 0 or 1; and Q is -CO- or -SO2-. |
