PURPOSE:To dispense with a solenoid and to reduce the number of assembling processes, by transmitting the rotatory power of a motor to either one of a feed roller and the drive member of a printing head holder by operating the meshing of gears corresponding to the position of the head holder. CONSTITUTION:When a printing head 1 is present at a printing start position A, the press piece 22a of the operation member 22 integrated with a head holder 1 presses a first gear 11 against a spring 23 to allow the same to mesh with a second gear 17. When a motor 10 rotates, a feed roller 4 is revolved through the first and second gears 11, 17. When the head holder 2 moves from this position to the right, the meshing of the first gear 11 with the second gear 17 is released and the first gear 11 is meshed with a third gear 18 and a shaft 19 and a cam 20 are revolved to raise a head moving member 6 and a printing head is pressed to recording paper under predetermined pressure to stop the motor 10 and this state is kept as it is. The printing head is separated from recording paper by reversing the motor 10 at a printing finish position. |
