PURPOSE:To permit the setting of a correct exposure by comparing the black dot density of a printed out image and the black dot density of original picture information and displaying the degree of the reproducibility thereof. CONSTITUTION:A photoelectric element 11 is disposed in the position right after a fixing part 9 where paper printed thereon with the image is outputted. For example, a charge coupled device is used for the photoelectric element to detect the black dot density of the image. The data detected by the element 11 is inputted to a correction circuit 12, by which the data is corrected to an adequate value and thereafter the data is stored in the 1st storage circuit 13. The black dot density of the information on the original picture image is stored into the 2nd storage circuit 14. Both data on the black dot density are compared in an arithmetic circuit 15 and the result thereof is displayed on a display part 16. The exposing in the stage of photographing is thus set at the correct value in the case of using the printed image for a block copy.
