PURPOSE:A transparent insulating film with excellent electrical insulation property, transparency, film strength and orienting property for a liquid crystal molecule, which comprises ZrO2-SiO2 as a constituent. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of an organozirconium compd. such as tetraacetylacetonatozirconium directly bonded with 0 and an organosilicon compd. such as vinyltris-(2-methoxyethyoxy)silane is dissolved in an org. solvent of b.p. 180- 350 deg.C such as benzyl alcohol, and a viscosity builder such as ethylcellulose is added to obtain a paste for forming a transparent insulating film. Then after the paste is applied to an insulating substrate by screen printing, it is calcined at 450-700 deg.C to obtain the transparent insulating film comprising ZrO2-SiO2 as a constituent. |
