PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous material having excellent flexibility and used for various applications such as an adsorbent, a filtration material, a heat insulator, an acoustic material, a shock absorbing material, a catalyst, a support for an agent such as an antifungal agent and the like, and the like. SOLUTION: The porus material is prepared by homogeneously mixing (A) a nonsolvent thermosetting resin, (B) a curing agent, (C) a polyalkylene glycol or one or more species selected from its derivatives and, if needed, (D) a compound compatible with the ingredient (A) and more hydrophobic than the ingredient (A) and/or a compound compatible with the ingredient (C) and more hydrophilic than the ingredient (C), forming a cured product, extracting the ingredient (C) and the like with a solvent, to obtain an aggregate of spherical particles having 1-100μm, 0.8-1.2 ratio of the major diameter over the minor diameter (the major diameter/the minor diameter).
