A device for tightening at least the trimming sheet of sails of surfing craft which have a wishbone of a certain diameter is characterised by the following features: a) a longitudinal web (39) is provided; b) an articulated device (46, 47, 49, 53) is provided on the top side of the longitudinal web (39); c) with one of its end areas, a flexurally rigid lever (51) is pivotably linked to the articulated device (46, 47, 49, 53) in the longitudinal direction of the longitudinal web (39), the longitudinal web (39) being substantially shorter than the lever (51); d) at least one fastening device (56, 69) for the trimming sheet is provided on the lever (51); e) a tension-proof enclosing device (58, 63, 66, 67) for the wishbone starts in its cross-sectional direction from at least one end area of the longitudinal web (39). With this auxiliary device, the trimming sheet can be put through tightly in the required manner with moderate expenditure of force. <IMAGE>
