PURPOSE:To contrive to enhance printing quality, by a construction wherein a head can be turned with a central part as a center, in a head-supporting device. CONSTITUTION:A cam follower 6 is faced to a lower part of a head-controlling cam 7, and a head-supporting lever 3 receives a load in the direction of an arrow P from a head-pressing spring 8, so that it tends to move in the direction of an arrow E with a shaft 18 as a fulcrum. However, a head 1 comes into contact with a platen 9 before the cam follower 6 comes into contact with the bottom of the cam 7, and the head 1 becomes stationary. Namely, the head 1 becomes stationary, with the platen 9 as an abutting part. Since the head 1 can be freely turned around a connecting pin 4, partial contact does not occur, and all heating elements can make contact with the platen 9 with a uniform pressure. Accordingly, the close contact of the head and the platen becomes extremely favorable, and printing quality can be enhanced. |
