PURPOSE:To easily and effectively treat a calculation formula in a computer system by supplying and displaying the calculation formula through a symbol menu input device and at the same time converting automatically the formula into an exclusive or general-purpose program language. CONSTITUTION:When a calculation formula is executed by automatic programming, an operator draws the formula on a graphic display device 1 via a menu input device 2. Then the formula is extracted by an automatic programming program 5 for calculation formula via a symbol menu access routine 5b and a calculation formula work file access routine 5c and then converted into the calculation formula program source consisting of an exclusive or general-purpose program language by a calculation formula program source file generating routine 5d. This program source can be registered to a calculation program source file 3. Thus even an operator who knows no exclusive nor general-purpose program language can treat easily and effectively a calculation formula in a computer system.
