PURPOSE:To enable automation of mounting and demounting of an hydraulic joint, by a method wherein an actuator, mounting and demounting a joint on the elevating frame side, and the joint on the elevating frame side to be retreated in a position allowing the actuator and the joint to prevent from contact with a rotary body device, is mounted to a rotary casing driver. CONSTITUTION:An oil pressure pipe for a hydraulic cylinder, serving to decrease and increase the diameter of a band, is placed to the outer surface of a rotary body 8 adapted to rotate a steel pipe in a manner to chuck it, and a male type joint 20 is mounted in an appropriate position. Meanwhile, a slide lever 28 is slidably attached to an elevating frame 5, a rotary frame 33 is rotatably mounted to the sliding lever 28 through a shaft 34, and an oil pressure pipe 35 for feed and a female type joint 24 are slidably situated on the rotary frame 33. This enables movement of the sliding lever 28 from a retracting position to a coupling position through the working of a hydraulic cylinder 31, and permits automatic coupling of the joints 20 and 24 with each other through the working of a hydraulic cylinder 39.
