发明名称 HARDENING METHOD BY ENERGY BEAM
摘要 PURPOSE:To form a hardened layer having uniform hardness and hardening depth on the outside circumferential surface of a work by rotating the work around the central axis at a high speed and irradiating an energy beam onto the outside circumference of the work during the rotation of plural times then stopping the irradiation. CONSTITUTION:The work 2 having the central axis is rotated at the high speed around the central axis and the energy beam 1 such as laser beam is irradiated onto the outside circumference of the work 2 during the time when the work 2 rotates >=2 turns. The entire part of the energy irradiated part 3 of the work 2 is thereby held at the prescribed temp. below the m.p. of the work 2 and above the AC1 transformation temp. during the time when the work 2 rotates one turn. The irradiation of the beam 1 is then stopped and the part 3 is allowed to cool by the work 2 itself. The quench hardened layer 4 having the uniform hardness and hardening depth is thus formed on the work 2 surface.
