A light modulator comprised of an ultra-sonic medium(1) takes 3-step shapes in which each of the steps modulates corresponding color signal (R,G,B) and step-width of a1,a2,a3 are 4:3:2. A top side is covered with ultra-sonic absorber(12) and light absorbers are coated on the ultra-sonic absorber(12) and the light absorber (51-3) layers. The depression parts( ) are formed on the bottom side, which distances correspond to each width of the steps. A transducer(2) comprising electrodes (7,7') and an ultrasonic vibrator(8) is attached on the bottom side.
