Method and apparatus for operating broken-thread and/or broken-roving suck-off channels

Method for operating a horizontal suck-off channel of a broken-thread or a broken-roving suck-off system of a spinning machine. The suck-off capacity of the suck-off channel is jointly adjustable for all the suck-off orifices assigned to it. At the same time, to reduce the energy costs, during the normal operation of the spinning machine this suck-off capacity is set at a value which is considerably below the maximum possible suck-off capacity of this suck-off channel.
