In all hitherto known embodiments of one-armed wipers, even in those, the wiper blade of which describes a curved path which deviates from a radius, the wiping area is considerably smaller than the surface of the windscreen. In order to eliminate this traffic-endangering disadvantage, according to the invention it is proposed that the outer end of the wiper blade describes, in a manner known per se, a radius, the highest point of which is higher than the highest point of the windscreen.
