PURPOSE:To make the titled camera small in size and light in weight, also to constitute it so that it can be handled easily, to obtain an illumination exactly and enough, and to obtain a distinct image by forming as one body an optical means constituted of a light source and a concave mirror, with an image pickup lens, a solid-state image pickup element, etc., so that light is always irradiated in the same direction as the direction of the camera. CONSTITUTION:An optical image of a body to be photographed 15, which has been incident through an image pickup lens 11 is formed on a photosensitive surface of a solid-state image pickup element 12, and converted to an electric signal. Also, a light source 13 is provided successively in a line with the image pickup lens 11 and the solid-state image pickup element 12, and also a concave mirror 14 is provided. The concave mirror 14 is placed so that the concave part is turned toward the front, reflects light of the light source 13 and irradiates it to the side of the body to be photographed 15 of the front. These image pickup lens 11, the solid-state image pickup element 12, the light source 13, and the concave mirror 14 are held in a camera housing, and a driving circuit of the solid-state image pickup element 12, a camera controlling circuit and an output signal processing circuit are provided on the rear part of the concave mirror 14, or on the outside of the housing through a cable.
