PURPOSE:To aim at the promotion of reduction in an installation area, by housing almost all cassettes in a printer body, while turning up paper after being extracted out of the rear end side of a cassette, feeding the paper to a transcription part, and further turning up the paper, discharging it on the top of the body, in case of a laser beam printer or the like. CONSTITUTION:A cassette 2 with the paper housed is inserted into a body 1 from an arrow X direction, and almost all of the cassettes 2 are housed in the body 1. The paper is extracted out of the cassette 2 by a pickup roller 3, and turned over by a turnover guide 45, thus it is conveyed to regist rollers 9 and 9'. Next, the paper comes into contact with a sensitive drum 4, whereby the toner image formed on this drum 4 is transferred by a transcriber 5, and afterward passing through a passage shown in a one-dot chain line and, after being fixed by fixers 6 and 6', further turned over by the turnover guide 45, thus the paper is discharged to a tray 8 by discharge rollers 7 and 7'. In case of manual paper feed, the paper is inserted thereinto as shown in the one-dot chain line from a manual paper feed part 44, and conveyed to these regist rollers 9 and 9' by feed rollers 10 and 10', thus processed in the same manner aforesaid.
