摘要 PURPOSE:To measure the inclination angle of polarization axis quickly and accurately by detecting an angle change when a current change is maximum. CONSTITUTION:An optical system consists of a small-area light source 32, a lens 33, a polarizing plate 34, a lens 35a of polarizing sunglasses, a condenser lens 36 and a photoelectric transducer 37 and the intensity of light is indicated by an ammeter 38. When a rough read angle plate 24 and a fine read drum 28 are set in zero positions together and an arm 29 is placed between stop piecers 30 and 31, the axis of polariza tion of the polarizing plate 34 is at right angles to the placing face 39 of polarizing sunglasses. The arm 29 is rotated at +45 deg. and is brought into contact with the stop piece 30 to obtain the indicated value of the ammeter 38, and the arm 29 is rotated reversely and is abutted with the stop piece 31 to obtain the indicated value for the position of -45 deg.. If both indicated values are equal to each other, the characteristic curve due to the polarizing plate in the zero position and an analyzer which is not inclined is indicated by intersections between positions of -45 deg. and +45 deg., and the axis of polarization of the lens 35a is not inclined. If the axis of polarization is in clined, the drum 28 is turned a little and the arm 29 is rotated at + or -45 deg. to obtain indicated values and read values on the drum 28 and the angle plate 24 are totalized.
