PURPOSE:To facilitate washing work and to enable the concn. of an electric field to the surface of an electrode roller, by embedding an ink repellent material in the trough parts between a large number of projections provided to a substrate made of a metal material to make the surface of the substrate smooth. CONSTITUTION:An electrode roller 7 comprising a metal material 17 being a substrate has a cross-sectional shape constituted by such a method that a large number of mountain shaped projections are formed at predetermined pitches and an ink repellent material 18 low in conductivity is embedded in the valley parts between the projections so as to exert no adverse effect on the concn. of an electric field to the projections and a smooth surface is formed of the exposed surfaces of the projections and the embedded surfaces of the material 18. The ink 13 of the electrode roller 7 gathers to the exposed surfaces of the projections on the metal material 17 by the ink repellent material 18 as ink droplets 19. Because the metal material 17 has the mountain shaped projections, the concn. of the electric field to the apexes of the projection is strongly generated and said apexes strongly receive the electric field of an opposed electrode to generate the certain flight of the ink and the stable control of flight is enabled. The surface of the roller is smooth and the scraping of the ink on said surface or the surface cleaning work of the roller becomes simple. |
