PURPOSE:To prevent effectively mis-operation of an operation switch during image pickup by providing a contact detection section to an operation switch for a video camera and using its output signal so as to display presence of contact in a finder. CONSTITUTION:A contact detection section 6 is provided to each of plural camera operation switches S1-SN, and a display device 8 is provided, which gives a display in a finder so that a photographer can recognize visually to be contacted with any switch by receiving an output signal of the contact detection section 6. For example, when a finger is touched to a focus mode changeover switch 5 while a camera photographer picks up an image and peeps a finder, a capacitance of a capacitor 10 is changed, its signal is amplified by an amplifier 11 and sent to a display device 8a from a comparator 13 via a detector 12. Its contact signal is amplified by a buffer amplifier 16 to light a light emitting diode 15. Thus, the photographer can recognize it visually while peeping the finder that its hand is touched with the focus mode changeover switch 5.
