PURPOSE:To eliminate unevenness of a subbing layer, to enhance adhesion, to improve transparency, and to solve environmental problems, by coating the surface of a polyester film subjected to corona discharge treatment with a subbing layer specified in compsn. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the polyester film subjected to corona discharge treatment is coated with a subbing layer contg. a styrene-acrylate type copolymer (SAA), carbitol acetate in an amt. of 1-20wt% of the copolymer, and a compd. having >=2 epoxy groups in a weight of 0.01-2g/m<2>. Such a subbing compsn. can be obtained easily and uniformly by adding a water-miscible org. solvent soln. of the carbitol acetate and the epoxy compd. to an aq. dispersion of SAA obtained by emulsion polymn. or the like like. The use of the carbitol acetate can lower the min. film-forming temp. of the SAA copolymer to near 0 deg.C and the drying temp. of the subbing layer to lower than the Tg of the polyester film, and hence, the heat deformation of the film can be prevented. |
