PURPOSE:To move a spindle or the like automatically within the limited speed by adjusting the flow rate of a liquid supplied to a driving mechanism and moving the spindle at the prescribed speed via the driving mechanism. CONSTITUTION:When the air in a cylinder 19 is released by shutting an opening and shutting valve 28, a rod 21 is moved to the left in a projecting direction by the energization of a spring 24 incorporated in the cylinder. A maximum value of this moving speed is set by a speed controller 27 and the speed does not exceed an allowable range. Further, a holding member 7 abutting on a engaging member 22 provided on the rod 21 is moved with the engaging member 22 by the energization of a return spring 12 and further, the spindle 3 connected with the holding member 7 is moved with this in the projecting direction. The spindle 3 is stopped when it abutts on an object to be measured. The measurement is performed based on the relative displacement of a main body 2 with the spindle 3 and this relative displacement is converted into an electrical signal by an encoder 5 and displayed on a display device 18 via a measurement circuit 17 of a digital display part 16. |
