The invention is based on a solid-rubber tyre for vehicle wheels, the tyre having a circumferential projection at one edge of its bearing face which engages in a depression of the wheel body. In addition, the tyre base contains wire bundles as reinforcement inlays. Furthermore, the invention is based on a tyre with an essentially cylindrical bearing face. In order to achieve better holding of the tyre on the wheel body under these conditions, according to the invention the inner faces of the wire bundles increase towards the circumferential bead of the tyre base, angular increases of approximately 5 to 15 DEG being possible. The wedge effect which is brought about in this way improves the fixing of the tyre on its wheel body.
