PURPOSE:To obtain two-dimensional image data of an object with accuracy corresponding to a purpose by providing a position detecting means, an image detecting means, an image input means for inputting an image signal, and an image input means, etc. CONSTITUTION:A position detecting signal from a position detecting means 10 and a set position signal which has been set by a position setting means 60 are inputted, a comparing means 70 compares both the signals, and when the position detecting signal coincides with the set position signal, an image input command signal is outputted. On the other hand, an image detecting means 80 scans an object 40 in the direction roughly vertical to its moving direction and detects an image. That which has been selected by an image input means 90 is an input image signal, and it is inputted to an image input means 100 and stored. By combining position data of the object 40 which is inputted and stored in the image input means 100, and image data corresponding to said data, an image information processing is executed in the form corresponding to a purpose by the next stage or processing means. In this way, by selecting the position setting at an optional interval, two-dimensional image data of the object can be obtained exactly.
