PURPOSE:To register simply a message to an exchange system by providing a software key, a memory and a display device to a telephone terminal equipment connected to an electronic exchange and using a software key so as to input a message comprised of characters or symbols to the memory. CONSTITUTION:When the registration mode of message information is set to a telephone terminal equipment 2 connected to the electronic exchange 1, the function of the software key 9 assigned to a function of various communication control normally is changed as a function for a character/symbol input key corresponding to characters/symbols for message information input. The character/symbol information indicated and inputted via the key 9 is inputted to a terminal control section 6. The message information represented by a string of inputted characters/symbols is displayed on a display device 8 by the control section 6 so as to confirm the information and the information is registered in a message memory 7 and after the registration is finished, the registration mode is released. The service of the exchange system is fulfilled by the registration of the said message information.
