PURPOSE:A microorganism in Clostridium, capable of assimilating carbon dioxide and hydrogen to produce acetic acid is cultured using carbon dioxide and hydrogen as substrates and the acetice acid accumulated is collected. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism in Clostridium, capable of assimilating carbon dioxide and hydrogen to produce acetic acid such as Clostridium sp. No.670 (FERM 8047) is cultured using carbon dioxide and hydrogen as substrates. Then, the acetic acid accumulated in the culture mixture is collected whereby biochemi cal production of acetic acid becomes possible. |
