PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of damage and deformation of a pattern when the pattern is buried in molding sand and to increase casting quality by combining a pattern holder having an abutting part made of a cushion material on a consumable pattern and a blowing off mechanism of sand remaining on the top surface of a pouring gate. CONSTITUTION:The top surface of a pouring gate part 12 of a consumable pattern 2 is held by a pattern fixing plate 15 of the pattern holder 4 and the side of the gate part 12 is held by pattern fixing plates 16. Cushion materials 19 and 20 made of polyurethane rubber or others are set on the abutting part of the pattern fixing plates 15 and 16 on the pattern 2 to hold the pattern 2 without occurring damage. The pattern holder 4 is opened and raised to stop the pattern fixing plate 15 for a specified time over the pouring gate part 12 after the pattern 2 is buried in the molding sand. A specified volume of air supplied through a pipe 21 set in the pattern fixing plate 15 blows off sand remaining on the top surface of the pouring gate 12. This mechanism prevents occurrence of damage and deformation of the pattern 2 and flow of the sand into the pattern. |
