A roll assembly for treating textile fabric comprises at least one pressure fluid supply roll coacting with at least one suction roll, each roll having a perforated core and a covering of nonwoven fabric. At the treatment nip of the two rolls the pressure fluid is forcibly sucked from the surface of the supply roll. Pref. each nonwoven roll cover comprises an assembly of radial discs which are coampacted together and have aligned holes that form axial flow passages.
