PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality thermal recording pictures having split recording boundary with inconspicous white streaks by differentiating the resistance values of the heating resistors of a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:The resistance value R1 of the first resistor in a thermal head is made lower than the values R2, R3, R4,... of other resistors at the boundary 1 of split recording. The quantity of heat to be generated from the resistor becomes greater than that from the other resistors, and thereby thermal discontinuance in the boundary of split recording is reduced and white streaks are reduced. The selection of the resistance values of each resistor to what relations is determined by making allowance for the balance of radiant heat of base plate and the resistance values R1 and R2. Also, the same effect is obtained by making the resistance values R1 and R2 lower than the other values. In this case, the resistance value R2 is set to be intermediate between the value R1 and the other values preferably. |
