Pyridoindole derivs. of formula (I) and their acid addn. salts are new: R1 = H or 1-4C alkyl, opt. substd. by NR8R9; R2 and R3 = H, or together form a bond; or R1 and R2 are together O, OCH2CH2O or SCH2CH2S; R4 = H or NR8R9; or R3 and R4 are together O; or R1 and R4 complete an N-contg. 6-membered ring; R5 = H, 1-4C alkyl or -C(R10)=N-R11, or R5+R6 are together a bond; R6 = H or 1-4C alkyl; R7 = halo, esp. F, Cl or Br; R8 and R9 = H or 1-4C alkyl, or together complete a 5- or 6-membered heterocycle opt. also contg. another N, O or S; R10 and R11 = 1-4C alkyl or together complete an N-contg., 5 or 6-membered ring.
