PURPOSE:To provide an air filter fit for an air conditioner of thin type, by extending part of a heat exchanger, by installing a fan in the neighborhood of the extended part, by installing an air filter on the air inlet side of a casing, by providing air holes in the lower part of an air filter facing to the extended part, and by covering those holes with a net. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger is designed in such a manner that the lower side of it is inclined forward, and the downstream side of it is extended to the front of a fan, giving large height to it. Air holes 4a are staggeredly provided on an air filter fitted on a decorative cover 3 in the neighborhood of a space 3a'. On the upstream side of air, a net 4d netted ruggedly in front and in the rear is fitted to a frame 4b and a panel 4c by welding. An air (A) shown by arrow signs in the neighborhood of a space 3a', formed by the extended part of a heat exchanger 2, will pass through the air holes 4a provided on a panel 4c, so that arbitrary air velocity can be obtained by how to determine the size and the arrangement of the holes. The rugged net 4d is provided in front of the holes 4a in the position ahead of the panel 4c. The air filter can have high dusting efficiency because dust can be filtered with wide area of the net 4d of an air filter as a whole. In addition to it, distribution of air rate can be made uniform because the air holes 4a are arranged staggeredly. |
