摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain always the stable response characteristic of liquid crystal by impressing an action signal for driving a micro shutter after a low frequency signal fl is impressed during a certain period at the time of activating a liquid crystal optical device. CONSTITUTION:In terms of the liquid crystal optical device composed of a micro shutter train for including the liquid crystal which has the dielectric anisotropy changed depending upon frequency and shows a positive dielectric anisotropy by the signal fl for covering an intersecting frequency fc to low frequency and a negative one by a signal fh for covering said frequency fc to high frequency, the low frequency fl is impressed at the time of activating the liquid crystal optical device to set a substrate in the vertical state, after which the action signal for driving the micro shutter train is impressed. The response characteristic of light transmittance can be stably obtained with an excellent repeatablity in the subsequent action state. Moreover this stable state can be obtained earlier ten times a conventional device.</p>
