PURPOSE:The titled composition excellent in heat resistance and water resistance and useful as, e.g., an adhesive or a coating agent, obtained by effecting an addition reaction between a specified silicone compound and a reaction product between allyl cyanoacetate, an alkyl cyanoacetate and HCHO. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition mainly consisting of a polymer of formula III (wherein R<1> is a 1-6C bivalent hydrocarbon group, or a 2-8C thioether group-containing bivalent hydrocarbon group), obtained by reacting allyl cyanoacetate with an alkyl cyanoacetate and HCHO to produce a cyanoacryl polymer containing unsaturated bond groups in the molecule of, for example, formula I (wherein b is 0-2, R<3> is a 1-10C monovalent hydrocarbon group, R<4> is OH or H and m and n are each 1-100) and effecting an addition reaction between the unsaturated bond groups in the product and a hydrolyzable silicone functional group-containing silicone compound of formula II (wherein R<2> is a 1-6C monovalent hydrocarbon group, X is a hydrolyzable group and a is 1 or 2) at 30-150 deg.C in the presence of an addition reaction catalyst of, e.g., a platinum catalyst (e.g., chloroplatinic acid) and in the presence (absence) of a solvent.
