INSULATING STRUCTURE FOR SPOT GUN ELECTRODE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To prevent trouble even if the side face of the piston rod of a spot welding machine contacts with a work by coating the outside circumference of the piston rod body with a steel pipe and insulating electrically the steel pipe and the piston rod body by a thin film-like insulating material. CONSTITUTION:The piston rod body 3 and the steel pipe 6 are electrically insulated by thin film-like insulating material 7. The conduction of electricity and the shunt occurring therein do not arise and no trouble arises even if the steel pipe 6 on the outside circumference of the piston rod contacts with the work 4. Since the outside circumference of the piston rod is coated with the steel pipe 6, the piston rod wears hardly, has the higher strength to impact and contributes to an improvement in the durability of the spot gun.
