PURPOSE:To effectively absorb an impact of a mooring rope by fixing one end of a resilient stick-like member which is bent at an angle to a mooring robe and attaching the other end of the member to a metal fitting on a stem part as that said end can make free turning movement in the lateral and the stern direction. CONSTITUTION:The shock absorber 12 of an anchor is mounted at the bow of a hull 10. The shock absorber 12 consists of a resilient stick-like member 14, a metal fitting 16 by which said stick-like member 14 is attached to the stem and a rope fixing tool 18. The stick-like member 14 is made of steel, FRP or carbon fiber which produce a great reaction force against a bending deflection. The stick-like member 14 is attached to the stem by means of the metal fitting 16 in such a way that the member 14 can make free turning movement in the lateral and the stern direction. An impact produced when an anchor rope 22 is stretched by the force of waves or the like can be effectively absorbed by the reaction force of the stick-like member 14.
