PURPOSE:To determine the corrosion resistance of enamel detecting the baking temperature of a sample enamel, by crushing a sample of enamel with the unknown baking temperature after the baking thereof to compare the melting temperature and the melting speed relative value obtained from a differentiation curve of differential thermo analysis with those with the known baking temperature. CONSTITUTION:For example, a sample obtained by sampling and crushing enamel on the inner surface of an electric water heater is subjected a differential thermo analysis to determine the melting temperature and the melting speed relative value from a differentiation curve. The melting speed shown by the peak height of the differentiation curve indicates the optimum baking temperature signalling that material fine particles have melted completely during the baking of the enamel. The enamel which is obtained at the baking temperature lower or higher than the optimum temperature indicates the lower peak of all. The baking temperature of the sample is learned from the chart determined to indicate the relationship between the melting temperature and the melting speed as previously obtained by differential thermo analysis varied in the baking temperature for each known composition of enamel. Thus, the resistance of enamel to heated water can be detected. |
