PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body high in sensitivity, durability, and image quality, and suitable for reversal development process by forming on a conductive substrate a photosensitive layer made of ZnO, a squaric acid type dye, an org. electrostatic charge transfer material, and a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is obtained by coating a conductive substrate 1 with a coating fluid contg. the squaric acid type dye represented by the formula, a photoconductive ZnO, the org. charge transfer material, such as diethylaminobenzaldehyde-alpha-naphthylphenylhydrazine, and a binder resin, and drying it to form the photosensitive layer 9 on the conductive substrate 1. It is preferred to form a barrier layer having a volume resistivity of >=10<7>OMEGA.cm and the thickness of <=5mum between the substrate 1 and the layer 9, and a protective or insulating layer having the volume resistivity of >=10<11>OMEGA.cm on the layer 9 in order to enhance characteristics, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity in the cases of both positive and negative polarities, free from residual potential and accordingly, prevented from image unevenness, and having a long life. |
