PURPOSE:To permit to manufacture the toothed belt of double-layered structure continuously by a method wherein cavities, deeper than the thickness of already formed toothed belt embedded with tensile body and having a configuration corresponding to the surface of the teeth, are provided on the circumferential surface of a disc-type die wheel and rubber, having lower hardness than the toothed belt, is supplied to form a soft rubber coating layer on the back surface of the belt. CONSTITUTION:The tensile body embedded toothed belt 7, sent out of a reeling roll and already formed, is supplied to the cavities through a guide roll 8. The teeth of the belt are engaged with the cavities of the die wheel, which are provided with the configurations corresponding to the surface of the teeth, while thermoplastic polyurethane rubber of JIS-Ahardness 50-85, which is lower than the hardness of the rubber material of teeth of the toothed belt having JIS-Ahardness 85-99, is supplied through a nozzle 9 between the back surface of the toothed belt and a steel belt, supplied from the guide wheel 2, whereby softer rubber coating layer 10, having about 20mm thickness, may be formed on the back surface side of the belt. |
