PURPOSE:To always ensure an optimum line pressure to enhance the responsiveness of a stepless speed change unit, by regulating the line pressure fed to actuators for changing the gear ratio of the speed change unit in accordance with the amount of intake-air in an engine intake-air system, which substantially corresponds to the torque of an engine. CONSTITUTION:In a stepless speed change unit in which the gear ratio is changed by adjusting the groove gaps of drive and driven pulleys having variable effective diameters, by means of hydraulic actuators, there is provided a line pressure regulating means (relief valve) A for adjusting the line pressure discharged from a hydraulic pump and fed to actuators. Further, the line pressure regulating means controls such that the line pressure is controlled in accordance with a line pressure which is set by a line pressure control means C in accordance with the output of an air amount detecting means B. |
