<p>PURPOSE:To keep a vehicle stopping on a gradient road surface for easy starting on a slope by controlling the slippage of a clutch according to the grade of the road surface. CONSTITUTION:An microcomputer 21 which constitutes an arithmetic unit of an automatic transmission is connected at the input side to a pressure sensor 31 for detecting the pressure of a brake cylinder 30. The microcomputer 21 is further connected at the input side to a grade sensor 32 for detecting the grade of the vehicle. The output from the grade sensor 32 is used to discriminate whether the road is an ascent or a descent, and in case of an ascent, the transmission is shifted to the advance position by actuators 17, 18 and the amount of creeping is calculated. According to the result of the calculation, a clutch actuator 19 is operated to creep the clutch, and this condition is kept until an accelerator 24 is depressed.</p> |
