PURPOSE:To obtain a Ti alloy having superior corrosion resistance even in a severe corrosive environment by adding specified amounts of Ru and Ni to Ti. CONSTITUTION:This Ti alloy contains 0.005-2.0wt% Ru and 0.01-2.0wt% Ni. The Ti alloy has superior resistance to corrosion by a nonoxidizing acid such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid as well as superior corrosion resistance in an oxidizing corrosive environment contg. nitric acid, chromic acid, chloric acid, chlorine dioxide or chlorate. The Ti alloy also has superior resistance to crevice corrosion in a soln. contg. Cl ions.
