PURPOSE:To decrease the rotating resistance of rolls by cooling water in a runnout table for cooling a rolling material by means for ejecting cooling water by ejecting air flow toward the peripheral surface of rolls for conveying the rolling material. CONSTITUTION:Water is fed from a feed water source through feed water conduits 9a, 9b to ejecting pipes 10a, 10b and the cooling water is ejected from the ejecting nozzles at the top ends of the pipes 10a, 10b to the top and bottom surfaces of the rolling material to cool the rolling material. Air is fed to an air blowing header 11 from a blower 14 during this time to eject the air from the top ends of the nozzles 12, 12 toward the peripheral surface of respective rolls 7, 7. The cooling water on the peripheral surface of the rolls 7, 7 is blown off by the ejection of the air, by which the rotating resistance of the rolls 7, 7 by the cooling water is decreased and the over-capacity of an electric motor is eliminated. |
