PURPOSE:To obtain a space optical modulating tube excellent in resolution by constituting an electro-optical crystal part for accumulating electrons and generating an optical variation, by sticking two pieces of electro-optical crystal plates of each different in thickness through a transparent conductive film. CONSTITUTION:In a space optical modulating tube consisting of an electron source formed in a vacuum vessel, and an electro-optical crystal part for accumulating an electron emitted from its electron source and generating an optical variation, said electro-optical crystal part is constituted by sticking and unifying two electro-optical crystal plates 33, 31 of the same kind and each different thickness through a transparent conductive film 34, placed so that the surface of said thin crystal plate 33 is opposed to said electron source, and also an electro-optical crystal plate 32 of the almost same thickness is placed so as to be opposed to said thick crystal plate surface 31, and so as to make the refractive index elliptical body symmetrical.
