PURPOSE:To remove marine growth from the submerged part of a ship's hull by arranging supersonic wave transmitters on the side wall and the bottom of a drydock and irradiating a supersonic wave to the said submerged part while a ship's hull is being shifted in the drydock. CONSTITUTION:Supersonic wave transmitters B are arranged on the side wall 1 and the bottom 2 near the entrance gate of a drydock, and a supersonic wave is irradiated to the submerged part of a ship's hull while it is being shifted. Sensors C are arranged on the said bottom 2 to measure its clearance from the ship's hull and the output of the supersonic wave is controlled on the basis of a value detected by the sensors C. Marine growth such as slime, diatom and green laver can be thereby removed effectively.
